WEEKLY EMAIL

MAY 28, 2018

Hey family! Things are going well. Thanks for the letters and the package with food and cookies. Too much junk food, but I appreciate the homemade cookies haha. But really though, I appreciated the food so thanks a ton, haha. I'm not complaining.

This past week, I really enjoyed being a missionary! Like i just had a really good time, despite the hard things going on with investigators and the work. We did a whole lot of service too. We helped the Martinez family again, and then we were able to really help one of the members, Brother Capps, move some rocks on Saturday for like 3 hours. We went out to his house. He lives clear out in Camp Far West on this big hill. We did a quick photo shoot out there because it is so beautiful. We didn't have any investigators to sacrament, but we did find 3 new investigators, and we had like no time. We were super busy this past week.

We taught Juan again this week. It was a good lesson. He is like our only English investigator... and then on Saturday, he basically dropped us... but like, it wasn't from lack of effort or teaching with power on our part, I think. We always could have taught clearer or better, but he also used his agency... so, we're currently in the market for some new English investigators, haha.

Our Hmong investigators are doing well. We had a really cool experience. Finally, we were able to meet with this one Hmong grandma we had been trying to see. We got in, and she talked a lot about her family and how she wanted her children to become Christian. She's had a lot of hardship lately cuz her husband recently passed away, and she just farms all the time. So we were able to teach some of the plan of salvation, and gave her a Book of Mormon and it was just really promising and exciting, and I felt the Spirit as we were helping her and it was awesome. So that got me super excited.

Zone conference is coming up this Wednesday. I don't know too much else to talk about. It would be boring if I wrote everything. This week I really took some time and mapped out my vision for my mission, what I wanna do and how I want to serve, and then made some good plans for doing it. So I'm excited to do according to my vision. I would say, what I learned the most this last week was just to enjoy life despite the hard things that are going on, or despite the slow work. Love you guys, hope you have a great memorial day!
