QUICK UPDATE

SEPTEMBER 3, 2018

Hey family! I'm 20 now, so that's cool. This past week was pretty dang crazy. Not a whole ton of work being done, but we tried our best and had some cool stuff happen. 

Anyway, I'm typing this the night before, but it will be shorter cuz I'm pretty crunched on time with Elder MacDonald leaving today. But anyway... I found out I'm training again, so that will be tons of fun! Elder Vang is training too, so I'll have a grandson now too, haha. Exciting stuff. 

My birthday was tons of fun, I guess haha. Had a few good lessons, and then talked to to Sister Ward for a good hour while Pres interviewed Elder MacDonald. That was fun. Also, went to a pho restaurant for dinner. Also, thanks so much for the birthday package and presents! That was so nice of you, and I love the Book of Mormon and the Christus and all the conference talks! Hopefully, I can read all of them, haha. 

Most of this week was just getting Elder MacDonald down to Sacramento on Thursday, then hanging out with other missionaries here while he was at the temple, and then when he came back, helping him get packed up and ready to go. We're heading to a breakfast this morning in Gridley, and then he is heading out for good. Pretty sad. But anyway, here's a quick update on the week. 

Last night, the branch had a little going away potluck thing for Elder MacDonald. There was so much food and they all said nice things. The branch here loves the missionaries so much. Here's a pic of all of the food. 

I interviewed a man for baptism, and then he was baptized on Saturday and Elder MacDonald and I were able to teach the restoration at the baptism. It was a really cool thing. Also, that night we didn't have a dinner, but the Yang's called us up and invited us over for a barbeque. I was full after 2 hamburgers and a hotdog, but they had steak afterwards too, haha.. Hmong people know how to eat, haha.

Thursday night, I had a sleepover with Oroville 3 cuz Elder MacDonald was gone. Having another sleepover tonight. That will be fun. 

Yesterday was awesome. We had a miracle happen with people coming to church again. We have been working since I got here to help Thaomee and Yang, and this past Sunday, Yang came to church! You can see the pic on my Facebook. But he came to the English ward because he had work at 11, but it was awesome. They are just on fire right now. He even payed his tithing. He is already a member, but his wife isn't. She couldn't come because she had work, but she came to a self-reliance class that was this past Thursday, and that was really cool. Also, had one of our other people come to church without even telling us, and then a less-active couple came to church as well. It was awesome.

That's most of what happened, just exciting times from here on, haha. Kind of nervous, but it will be great and i am super excited to train. Love you guys!
