Hey Family! So yeah I'm being transferred to Oroville, so that's cool. This week, I'm gonna do my group email through pictures. Sorry it might not be long, but I've been super busy...
I'll just go in order:
Kang and Sia: I love these two sisters so much. Holy cow.
They are sisters, and Kang has the shorter hair. She would come with us to all
the lessons. She is ib tug phab ej (superhero). Sia is her sister and is single
and way good at cooking. She provided us with a lot of meals. I hope she finds
a great husband someday. She also speaks the fastest green Hmong I've ever
heard, totally freaked me out my first week.
Long and Kendra: These guys are amazing. I love them, they
are such great examples of living the gospel. Their family didn't want them to
be married in the church. They wanted a cultural marriage. They knew the church
was true though, so they snuck off and got sealed in the Oakland Temple. Also,
Kendra's story for getting to America is amazing too, but not enough time to
tell it.
Brother and Sister Fowles: I love these guys. We ate dinner
with them last night. The American Heritage Youth Choir was here to perform,
and we ate with a few of them too. It was a good time. Bro. Fowles was the elders
quorum president for Wheatland, really funny and awesome.
Michael: Elders quorum pres. for Hmong. I love him too. He
is awesome and super missionary oriented. Most well of of the Vang brothers...
he never really fed us, but we always knew he cared, haha. He lives kinda far
away, in Loma Rica.
The Booths: Well everyone should know Jasmine and Michael,
but also Michael's little sister, Kiana, is pictured too. She came to church a
lot of times.
Grandpa Thao: I love this old guy, even though he is so hard
to understand for me, haha. He has really had a lot of hard trials in his life,
and every Sunday we would go take him the sacrament. This past Sunday, we spoke
in sacrament meeting, and his wife was there and we had like no time for
anything. We had skipped lunch and we were starving, and Elder Vang just
mentioned we were hungry as like a joke in his talk, and we get there to give
him the sacrament and she had made lunch for us. Miracle.
Xiong family (Mai was at work): Man this was like the
saddest goodbye. I love these guys with all my heart. I'm gonna miss them so
much. They are amazing, just like some of my best friends here. They are doing
amazing things and have changed so much, I love them!!!!
There's more pictures of people on my camera, but so far that's all I got for now. Probably have a lot more next week. But this past week was amazing and bittersweet, for sure. I'm so sad to leave everyone and leave Wheatland, but super stoked for the new adventure. Also, saw a lot of miracles this past week. Maribell, maybe you remember her, came to church this past week, it was crazy. Also, my whole time here, we've been working with a less active guy named Brother Kitler, and his family is way cool, but he hasn't come to church since I've been here... and they are moving down south, so on Saturday we were able to help him do a lot of good service to get ready for his house to rent, and then on Sunday HE JUST SHOWED UP TO CHURCH!!!! It was like so crazy. We didn't even like invite him or tell him to or anything. Miracle. Also, got a new 2nd counselor, Brother Shumway, and I love that guy. He is so awesome. Bore such a strong testimony.
Also, last pic. To celebrate training being over, we bought
a tri-tip steak and grilled it up on the stove for dinner Saturday. It's been a
great week.
Love you guys!
Love, Elder Muaj Koob
